Basic Principles for a Good Resume:
- Your resume can be defined as a "self-advertisement" that briefly summarizes your experiences. It gives the human resources professional an overall view of the qualifications you have for the job you are applying for.
- Your personal information should be in summary form on your resume.
- You can also use the language in 3rd person singular.
- Ideally, 1 page should be prepared. It can be up to 2 pages.
- If your high school information includes vocational education, it can be added. Primary and secondary school information should not be included.
- Only the district and province should be written in your address.
- Your e-mail address must consist of your name and surname.
- Your face should be clearly visible in your profile photo. Your background should not be a very colorful theme.
- You should write your foreign language knowledge along with its level.

- You must add your LinkedIn account.
- Participation certificates of at least 6-8 hours of training should be attached.
- Not all events you attend should be listed. Those suitable for the job you are applying for can be used.
- Your most recent job is written at the top. When listing your work experience, your goal is to create a chronological list of experience related to the jobs you are applying for.
- Although this list focuses on professional work experience, you can include your awards, volunteer or community experience, talents, as well as your vocational training program on your resume.
What Should Be Included in The Resume?
- Ideally, your resume should reflect your experience relevant to the job you're applying for. After examining the job advertisement you want to apply for in detail, your resume should be arranged in accordance with the requirements requested in the advertisement.
- Unnecessary words and sentences should not be included in your resume.
- Before writing down all the details for each position you are applying for, you should decide how you will organize your experience, education, skills, qualifications and other information.
- You should pay attention to create a suitable resume for each job application. To make your resume different from others, you can mention your future plans and goals in the goal/personal description section. Use the language from the job advertisement as a keyword.
- Your reference should not be more than one. Your reference may be someone you have worked with before, or you may prefer a lecturer who knows you. Either way, remember to get your reference's permission.
Before you start preparing a CV, you can ask yourself the following questions:
- What is your proudest achievement?
- What do people come to ask you for?
- What skills make you stand out?
- Have you checked your digital footprint?
- Do you have a digital CV (personal website)?
- Do you have a LinkedIn account?
- What computer programs do you use?
- In which areas do you have technical knowledge?
- Do you speak any foreign language?
- Do you have any connection from your internship or volunteer work? (Reference)
- Have you participated in national or international competitions / projects?
- Have you attended certified trainings?
