With the objectives set pursuant to the vision and mission of our University and Faculty, we aim to raise professional and technical personnel with the conscious of life long learning and respect for human and nature, who are capable of analyzing, questioning, researching, teaching and producing ideas.
The Vocational School of Haliç University “does not educate intermediate staff, but competent professionals”.
The Vocational School of Haliç University was founded in 2010 with 11 programs and has now reached 15 programs including Cookery (formal and evening education), Banking and Insurance, Computer Technologies, Child Development, Electronics Technology, Physiotherapy, Food Technology, Graphic Design, First and Emergency Aid, Construction Technology, Logistics, Fashion Design, Stage And Decor Design, Tourism and Hotel Management and Quality Control in Production.
The curriculums of programs are composed of compulsory and, area and non-area elective courses designed in line with the requirements of the labor market. The Vocational School utilizes all the workshops and laboratories of other departments at the University, besides the workshops and laboratories required by its own programs.
Furthermore, the Vocational School organizes seminars, conferences, exhibitions and panels to establish an effective communication between the students and business world, society and industry; in addition to the professional and techical trips in collaboration with various companies.
Our second-year students can participate in the
“Training in Sector Program” of our University contributing to the sector-university collaboration and work one or two days a week all year long in the contracted companies to enchance their work experience and prepare themselves for the future. Their working period within this program is regarded as internship and they will be awarded a “Certificate of Education in Sector” providing that the 480-hour working period is completed.
Both our academic staff and students can benefit from the Erasmus exchange program at our Vocational School. As part of the Erasmus program, they can receive education at the universities in participant countries within the frame of bilateral agreements and regulations.
