Dear All,
If
“exempt" is written in the “ENG Prep" section in the result list, it means that the student has been successful in the English preparation (eg., at least 60 points have been obtained). If it says
“compulsory" it means the student has failed (eg., a score below 60).
ENG101 and ENG102 (Advanced English I & II) are required courses for first year undergraduate students. The exemption conditions for these courses are as follows:
Between 65-69 points: Exempt from ENG101
70+: Exempt from both ENG101 and ENG102
In other words, if it is written
"exempt" for ENG101, the student got a score in the range of 65-69, if it is written
"compulsory", the student got a score below 65. If the ENG102 shows
"exempt", it means that the student has scored 70 or higher.
