Summer Term Course Procedures and Practices

1Since the summer term consists of seven weeks, course loads are twice the normal weekly course load.

2All courses (including English Preparatory School) and exams (midterm and final exams) will be held face to face.
İNG102, TDB102, GRŞ100, TBT100, ATA102, HIS102, HLC101, HLC102, OHS100, OHS101 and İSG100 courses and Pedagogical Education Formation courses will be held online and their exams will be held face to face. -
3In the summer education for the 2023-2024 academic year, students can take up to 18 ECTS or up to 3 courses, even if they are taking it for the first time.

4There will be no courses opened in the summer school at the Faculty of Medicine, except for İNG102, TDB102, GRŞ100, TBT100, ATA102, HIS102, HLC101, HLC102, OHS100, OHS101 and İSG100.

5Internships to be offered in the Summer Session of the 2023-2024 Academic Year are free of charge. In the selection of the internship course, the criteria for taking the upper course will not be applied.

6Registration for overlapping courses will not be made.

7Compulsory/elective courses determined by the Faculties/Directorates will be opened in line with the students' choices.

8Courses offered at Haliç University cannot be taken from another university within the scope of summer school.

9In order for the student to take courses from another university; The course must not have been opened and the base score of the relevant department of the university to which the student is applying must be equal to or higher than the base score of the department/program in which he/she is registered in the relevant year.

10In order for the student to take a course from another university, the course must not be opened. In the summer education of the 2023-2024 academic year, for courses taken at universities other than Haliç University, there will be no limitation on the placement score obtained in the university entrance exam (ÖSYM).

11The courses of students who choose and continue a course not offered at Haliç University in summer school from other universities without obtaining approval from the relevant Faculty/School/Vocational School board of directors will not be accepted and their transcripts received after the training (even if a passing grade is received) will not be recorded in OBS.

12English Preparatory School students will apply to the English Preparatory School Directorate to enroll in the modules that will be opened in the summer term.

13Course ECTS fees; It is 2350 TL (One ECTS) for associate degree courses and 3500 TL (One ECTS) for undergraduate courses. For international students, it is $130 (One ECTS) for associate degree courses and $200 (One ECTS) for undergraduate courses.
The fee will be paid in return for the value obtained by dividing the number of ECTS of the application courses given outside the university by two (If the number of ECTS of the application course is 15, the fee to be paid will be 7.5 ECTS). -
14The module fee for English Preparatory School is 35,000 TL and $2000 for international students.

15No scholarship or discount is applied to summer school fees. Students who register for summer school will not be refunded for tuition fees for any reason. However, if the selected course is not opened, the amount for the relevant course will be refunded. If none of the courses are offered, the entire tuition fee will be refunded.

16Students who do not take the summer school exams (midterm and final exams) for whatever reason or who fail the exam are not given another exam chance. Students who fail the summer school exam must take the failed course(s) in the next semester(s) in which it is offered.

17For the student who registered for summer school; The time spent in summer school is not taken into account in the calculation of the maximum period of education.

18If the student has not exceeded the maximum education period in the spring semester of the academic year in which he/she is registered, he/she can benefit from student rights; If the student has exceeded the maximum education period, he/she cannot benefit from student rights even if he/she registers for summer school.

Students Who Are Not Students of our University But Want to Take Courses from our University During the Summer Term
Students should fill out the "Course Registration Form" for the courses they want to choose among the courses announced on the website and submit it to the faculty where they will take the course. Click

Private student course registrations will be made by the Student Affairs Department upon the decision of the relevant Faculty Executive Board. Students must complete their financial obligations in order to register for courses.
