An Emergency and Fire Training, along with a Practical Fire Drill, was conducted at our university. The program, organized with the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) European Side Fire Department, saw the full participation of both the administrative and academic staff of our university.
The program, held in the Large Conference Hall, featured a fire safety training presentation by Oktay Peker, an official from the IMM European Side Fire Department. The training focused on raising awareness about fire safety, learning proper intervention methods, and understanding safe evacuation procedures.
Following the presentation, the practical training commenced. The drill covered fire causes and proper intervention techniques, after which the participants practiced the building evacuation process. The drill continued at the university's designated assembly area and was successfully completed with the execution of emergency scenarios.
At the end of the event, a plaque was presented to Oktay Peker, the IMM Fire Department official, by Alim Uçar, the Secretary General of Haliç University, in recognition of his contributions.
