Haliç University, which is one of Turkey's leading universities in medical education, and Şişli Memorial Hospital signed an affiliation agreement. The cooperation was discussed and approved at the meeting of the General Assembly of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on October 24, 2024.
As a result of the agreement, Haliç University Faculty of Medicine students will have the opportunity to do internship and practice at Şişli Memorial Hospital, one of Turkey's leading health institutions with international accreditation. Thanks to this collaboration, students will not only put their theoretical knowledge into practice, but will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the company of physicians who are experts in their field. The agreement aims to raise students' professional knowledge and skills to the highest level and to train them as well-equipped graduates who will contribute to the health services of our country.
Haliç University Rector Prof. Dr. Nihat İnanç expressed his satisfaction with the agreement and said, "This cooperation with Şişli Memorial Hospital offers an important opportunity for our medical students to directly access the experiences they need to gain in the field. Our students, who will work with an expert medical staff in their field, will reinforce their professional competencies by carrying the theoretical knowledge they have acquired to the field of practice. Therefore, we welcome this step that will contribute to our mission to train well-equipped health professionals for our country."
Şişli Memorial Hospital Director Dr. Özay Ünal expressed their hope that the cooperation will be the basis for important academic studies. He emphasized that Şişli Memorial Hospital is the first hospital of the Memorial Health Group and that they are excited to have experienced professors meet with students.
The process carried out within the framework of the protocol was carefully continued with the supervision carried out by the Council of Higher Education.
