President of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş attended the opening of the "Cihannüma Istanbul Forum 2024" program held at our university.

Stating that it was not accidental that the forum hosted by Haliç University was organized around the main topics of "Knowledge, Will and Order", Kurtulmuş noted that in order to solve the problems of the world today, there is a need for a deep intellectual acquisition, a political vision, and in order to realize these, an unshakeable will and a solid and unshakeable order on a global scale that will be formed around this will.

Stating that those with knowledge, will and a proposal for a global order will guide the new world process, Kurtulmuş said: "We do not know how the world will develop, but there is something very clear in front of us. After this, there will be neither a bipolar world nor a unipolar world where a single region, a single country, a single environment will rule and direct. On the contrary, we will see together that a new multi-polar, multi-centered world will be established. Within this multipolarity and polycentricity, we will also see, and we are already seeing, that some countries in the world will become extremely important. One of these countries, without exaggeration, is Türkiye, our country. In front of us, the doors of an extraordinarily important period have opened wide in terms of the future of our nation, the future of our country and the future of humanity."

Drawing attention to the problems on a global scale that closely concern the entire humanity, Kurtulmuş stated that the next struggle in the world will be between those who respect humanitarian and universal values and those who trampling on humanitarian and universal values.

Kurtulmuş continued his speech as follows:

"Today, when you talk about it on paper, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a very mature and powerful declaration, but I ask you, does it have any value or application? Every day we see countless examples of how those who talk about human rights the most, who hide behind this universal declaration, violate human rights and stand behind those who violate human rights. The most recent genocide in Gaza, one of the biggest genocides in the history of humanity, which trampled on all universal values, was carried out by Netanyahu and his gang with the support of those who hide behind the words of human rights. It must be clearly stated that from now on, there will be a very tough struggle between those who sincerely defend values and strengthen and deepen them by universalizing them, and those who make literature of values or take shelter behind them. It is a responsibility imposed on us by history to prepare for this struggle with a strong intellectual acquisition."
