About The Program

Mission

To raise individuals who are inquisitive, innovative, questioning, adopt ethical values, attach importance to knowledge and technological development, compete at the global level and internalize the values of our university.

Educational Purposes

The Business Administration Undergraduate Program aims to provide graduates in the fields of management, organization, accounting, finance, marketing, production and operations management, informatics and numerical methods in accordance with the requirements of business life and the age.
The business aims to train solution-oriented individuals who have gained entrepreneurial skills at national and international level, have the ability to manage and develop, and will adapt to continuous change.
The business program complies with the legal and ethical requirements of business life; It aims to continuously improve the quality of education in a way that adopts the principles of universality, sustainability and transparency.

Program Learning Outcomes

To acquire an interdisciplinary perspective on the understanding and implementation of key business functions.
Think critically in identifying, interpreting and solving business problems and opportunities from an entrepreneurial perspective.
To ensure that appropriate methodologies are used during data collection, analysis and reporting for effective and efficient decision making.
Using information technologies and computer software for the planning, implementation and control of business activities.
To show awareness of ethical and legal issues in business decisions.
To give importance to economic, environmental and social sustainability elements with the awareness that differences are valuable.
Developing professionally written reports and making effective presentations on a business topic using appropriate technologies.

To follow current developments and trends in the business world.
To communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Teaching Methods

Educational teaching methods; theoretical lecture, presentation preparation, project preparation, homework preparation, in-class academic discussion and case analysis.

Department Facilities

Applications of Double Major and Minor Programs in Business Administration In line with the provisions specified in the 20th article of Halic University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education - Teaching Regulations, On the Principles of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer. It is done within the scope of Regulation.
The programs in which the students enrolled in the department can do DAP (Double Major) have been determined by the Decision of the Department Board dated 04.08.2022 and numbered 2022/05; Below are the names of the relevant programs.

There are no prerequisites for a minor.

The Department of Business Administration has been providing education and training activities without interruption since 1998, and since its establishment, it has set the training of qualified human resources as its primary goal. Our department equips its students with a contemporary curriculum that provides both theoretical and practical knowledge in the fundamental areas of business administration. With a strong and experienced academic staff specializing in subfields such as business organization, accounting practices, auditing, and finance, our department possesses the capacity to produce and disseminate knowledge that is valid at both national and international levels. The academic competence and sectoral experience of our faculty members ensure that our students enter the workforce as well-prepared and visionary individuals. In this context, our department attaches great importance not only to academic success but also to sectoral adaptation and ethical responsibility.

Our graduates from the Business Administration Department are able to advance to managerial positions in Turkey's leading private sector organizations and also take on important bureaucratic roles in the public sector. Our graduates, who have successful careers in various fields such as senior management, finance, internal auditing, strategy consulting, and public administration, are a direct reflection of the importance our department places on applied education and comprehensive academic training. Our department not only competes with business departments in Turkey with its high international accreditation rate, but also has a globally recognized structure. Our department, which is on par with Turkey's elite business departments in terms of both academic content and the success of its graduates in the industry, continues to be the top choice for many students every year. With its educational philosophy, vision for knowledge creation, and graduate success, our Business Administration Department maintains a strong academic identity both nationally and internationally, and remains committed to nurturing future managerial candidates.
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive a Bachelor's degree in (Business Administration).
Student admission to the Business Administration (Turkish) program is provided in several ways. The equal weight (EA) score in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) organized by OSYM is taken as a basis for the admission of Turkish students, and in line with the success ranking obtained according to this score, the students gain the right to enroll in the relevant program. Students who graduate from the associate degree program can transfer to the undergraduate program according to the success score they have obtained in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). In addition, students can transfer from other programs or universities as well as through Double Major and Minor Programs.
International potential students can apply online through Haliç University International Office portal or through contracted agencies. During the application, candidates upload to the portal their high school diploma and transcript, passport and foreign language proficiency documents. In line with the application criteria prepared by Haliç University International Office, the high school graduation scores of the candidate students are evaluated according to the country where they completed their undergraduate education.
Applications of Double Major and Minor Programs in Business Turkish Program in line with the provisions specified in the 20th article of (Halic University Associate and Undergraduate Degree Education) are carried out within the scope of the regulation of (Transition between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions).
Students enrrolled in the Business Adminstration Turkish program can do Double Major in the following programs.

• Sports Management
• Nutrition and Dietetics

There are no any requirements for the minor program.
Students graduating from this program can apply to graduate programs in the same field or in other fields.

In order to graduate from the Business Administration Turkish program, students must meet the following requirements:
1. To have successfully completed the obligations required by the education program they are registered to.
2. To have completed 240 ECTS credits.
3. To have succeeded in the compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum.
4. To succeed by taking at least 60 ECTS elective courses in the curriculum.
5. Have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
6. Successfully completing the internship requirements.

The Business Administration Turkish Undergraduate Program aims to provide graduates in the fields of management, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, informatics and production in accordance with the requirements of business life and the era. Graduates of the Bachelor of Business Administration program are employed in various departments of the private sector and public institutions.
In the Business Administration Turkish program students for the registered courses are primarily evaluated by three exams: one midterm, one final and one make-up exam. The weight of the final exam is 60%. The remaining 40% part may consist only by a midterm exam. In addition to the midterm exam, the 40% can also include others practices such as group work, homework/project preparation and presentations, and quizzes that measure success during the semester. Methods on how to evaluate the courses are described in detail in the Bologna Information Packages of the courses. The grading system is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Haliç University Associate and Undergraduate Degree Regulations.
