About The Program

MISSION

Our mission as a department; evaluate the effects of the change in politics and international relations; able to think freely, creatively and critically; have universal, national and ethical values; the entrepreneur who questions, researches and can project his dreams; is to raise individuals who can successfully fulfill their professional and social responsibilities with their scientific, social and cultural formation and self-confidence.

VISION

Our vision as a department; enriching education and training experience in the field of politics and international relations with innovative and creative approaches; by working in the fields of education, training and research; To contribute to the rise of Turkey to the level of modern states and the welfare and happiness of the nation by performing academic, scientific and cultural activities.

Teaching Methods

Educational teaching methods; theoretical lecture, presentation preparation, project preparation, homework preparation, in-class academic discussion and case analysis.

Double Major and Minor Applications in Political Science and International Relations program In line with the provisions specified in the 20th article of Halic University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulation, Transition between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credits It is made within the scope of the Regulation on the Principles of Transfers. The programs in which the students enrolled in the department can do DAP (Double Major) have been determined by the Decision of the Department Board dated 04.08.2022 and numbered 2022/05; Below are the names of the relevant programs.

The Department of Political Science and International Relations was established within the Faculty of Business in 2011. The first graduates were in the 2014-2015 academic year. To improve quality, various committees have been formed within the department. Regular stakeholder meetings are held, and curricula are continuously updated based on stakeholder suggestions. Practical courses such as internships and final projects help students better prepare for the future.
Political Science and International Relations, Bachelor's Degree
1) High School Diploma

2) Placement through a nation-wide Student Selection and Placement Examinations

3) For graduates of short-cycle degree programmes from the same or related fields of studies of vocational schools (MYOs), placement through a nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı)

4) For foreign students, placement by direct applications of candidates to the university and assessment by the university within the frameworks of the publicly available national and institutional regulations published on the university’s web site
May apply to second cycle (master's) degree programmes.

A student is required to complete 240 ECTS credits and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 with no failing grades.

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. For theoretical courses assessment methods may include at least one midterm and one final exam. In order to pass a course minimum 50 over 100 must required.
