About The Program

Ekonomi bölümünün temel misyonu, öğrencilerimize iktisatçı gibi düşünebilme ve karar alma yetisini geliştirmek üzerinedir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öğrenciler, ekonomi biliminin esasını oluşturan mikroiktisat, makroiktisat, uluslararası iktisat, para teorisi ve politikası, büyüme ekonomisi ve kalkınma ekonomisi gibi temel dersleri alırlar. Ayrıca, bu alanlarda bilimsel çözümlemelerin gerektirdiği analiz araçlarını kullanma yeteneğini edinmeleri amacıyla, matematik, istatistik ve ekonometri gibi destek derslerini de alırlar.

Ulusal kaynakların verimli ve etkin bir şekilde kullanılmasını sağlamak ve böylece sürdürülebilir bir gelecek oluşturmak için bilimsel yayınlar yapmak ve mezunlar yetiştirmek bölümün vizyonunu oluşturmaktadır.

The Department of Economics was established in 2025 and commenced undergraduate education in the same year. Since its inception, the department has embraced a modern approach to economics education, aiming to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to prepare them for academic and professional success.

Bachelor Degree

Student admission is made within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and through the system created by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in postgraduate programs in the same or other fields.

1. Successfully complete the requirements of the education program they are enrolled in.
2. Complete 240 ECTS credits.
3. Pass the compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum.
4. Pass the elective courses in the curriculum with at least 60 ECTS credits.
5. Have a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.
6. Successfully complete the internship and graduation project.

Graduates of the Department of Economics possess strong theoretical and analytical skills, allowing them to work in a wide range of positions across both the public and private sectors. In the public sphere, they may be employed in institutions such as the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Trade, Development Agencies, and local governments. In the private sector, career opportunities include banking, finance, insurance, consulting, foreign trade, marketing and human resources. Additionally, graduates who wish to pursue an academic path can continue with master’s and doctoral studies and work as researchers or faculty members at universities.

The academic performance of students in the Department of Economics, Faculty of Business Administration at Haliç University is determined in accordance with the provisions of the “Haliç University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.” The relevant regulation can be accessed through the legislation page of our university.
