Psychology is a word derived by combining the words psykhe (spirit) and logos (knowledge). It is a science that examines the essence and different states of the human soul and tries to find the rules of phenomena such as sensation, enthusiasm and thinking. Man, as a living creature, has a tendency to adapt to his environment and develop in a balanced way within himself. Psychology also tries to explain and predict its behavior by applying the laws it has obtained to human beings. |

The success status of Haliç University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences Psychology (English) students is determined according to the provisions of the “Haliç University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation”. 1. Success grade; refers to the equivalent of the raw success grade determined by taking into account the grades students receive from the mid-term/annual activities and mid-term/end-of-year exams according to the predicted weights in the 4-point grading system. 2. In units; except for level determination exams and foreign language and Turkish preparatory classes, success grade is calculated according to the relative evaluation method. In order to be included in the success evaluation for a course; a) In the end-of-term or make-up exams; at least 50 points must be received from the board/committee courses in units that apply the grade passing system, at least 60 points from other courses, and at least 50 points in other units, b) The success grade must be at least 60 in units that apply the grade passing system and at least 50 in other units. Those who fail to meet these conditions are considered unsuccessful and excluded from the evaluation. 3. In measuring success in a course; mid-term exams, supplementary exams, field and workplace studies, applications, homework, projects, workshops, seminars, continuation, laboratory and similar mid-term studies related to that course constitute 40% of the course evaluation grade. The types of mid-term studies and their contribution to the course success grade are announced to students by the instructor teaching the course at the beginning of each semester. The grades of all mid-term studies and final exams related to the courses are announced. 4. The absolute evaluation system has been abolished and a relative evaluation system has been adopted. 5. a) In order to take the mid-term exams of a course, the student must have completed the course registration and fulfilled the requirements announced by the instructor at the beginning of the semester. Students who do not fulfill these requirements remain without a visa. b) In order to take the final exam, it is necessary to have fulfilled the attendance requirement, have a mid-term exam grade and not be without a visa. Students who cannot take the final exam can apply for a make-up exam within 5 working days, as in the midterm exam. c) Students who do not fail due to absenteeism and do not have a visa can take the make-up exam. Students who do not take the final exam do not have the right to take the make-up exam. Students who do not take the final exam and apply for the make-up exam can only take the make-up exam. Students who fail the final exam with an FF and want to increase their grades by getting a DD or DC can take the make-up exam. 6. The grade increase exam for graduates has been abolished. 7. Students whose grade point average remains below 2.00 twice in a row must repeat the courses they have a DC or DD grade from the semester they have completed and the previous semester. 8. An equivalent elective course can be taken instead of the failed elective course. However, if the elective course taken instead is passed; a maximum of three courses are deleted from the transcript upon the student's application and are not included in the average. 9. The points and letter equivalents of the success grades are given below: Success Grade Letter Grade Meaning Grade Range 4.00 AA Excellent 90-100 3.50 BA Very Good 80-89 3.00 BB Good 70-79 2.50 CB Average 65-69 2.00 CC Sufficient 60-64 1.50 DC Conditionally Successful 55-59 1.00 DD Conditionally Successful 50-54 0.00 FF Unsuccessful 0-49 0.00 NA Absenteeism 0 10. Otherwise, the letter I becomes an FF grade. c) The S, U and P letter grades for internships have been abolished.
