Life At Haliç

T.R. Haliç University Department of Architecture was established in the 2000-2001 academic year. It is a 4-year undergraduate program that accepts students in numerical score type and the language of education is Turkish. The Department of Architecture provides postgraduate education as a Department affiliated to the Graduate Education Institute of the University. The Thesis and Non-Thesis Master's Program offered by the department started in 2006, and the PhD Program started in 2011. |

T.C. Haliç University is a foundation university with a public legal entity, established by our Foundation for Children with Leukemia, subject to the provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 on Foundation Higher Education Institutions, with the Law No. 4324 dated 15.01.1998 (Additional Article 48 of the Higher Education Institutions Organization Law No. 2809). Haliç University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture; It is a program that provides education at undergraduate and graduate (master's and doctorate) levels. The Department of Architecture is affiliated to the Faculty of Architecture, which was opened in 2000. |
| Students who successfully complete architecture program are eligible to receive a Bachelor's degree in architecture. |
| Students are placed in this program through a central examination system within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Students who take the exam can apply to the Architecture Department using the SAY (Quantitative) score type. |
| Student graduated from the Architecture Program may apply to master and PhD programs. |

For the graduation from this program, the students are required; -to have at least 2.00/4.00 of Cumulative Grade Points Average -to have completed all the courses in their undergraduate program with a letter grade better than DD -to have completed a minimum of 240 ECTS credits -to have completed their compulsory internship. |
| Students graduated from Architecture Program can apply to the public and private sector as practitioners and controllers. It is also possible to establish their own businesses where they can carry out public and private sector projects. Architects have an opportunity to work in journals focusing on architecture and design field. They can work as academics in universities. |

In the department of Architecture at least one midterm exam and final exam are made at each semester for each course. Optional in term exams can be done without specifying the dates throughout course plan. The criteria used in evaluating the success of exams such as midterm, final exams, homework etc. and proportion of these criteria are decided by instructors. Evaluation system for letter values are described below. Letter Grade Numerical Value AA 4.0 BA 3.5 BB 3.0 CB 2.5 CC 2.0 DC 1.5 DD 1.0 FF 0.0 NA 0.0 Students with DD and above the S grade are considered successful in that course; and students getting FF,NA,I and U letter notes are considered to fail. If a student takes a note under CC and overall GPA is under 2.00, he is considered to be unsuccessful from that course according to regulations described in article 38. |
