Today, Industrial Design has a broad definition that includes not only product design but also system, service and experience design. The World Design Organization, which accepted this scope in 2015, defines industrial design as 'a strategic problem-solving process that nurtures innovation development, creates business success and provides a better quality of life'.

All compulsory and elective courses must be taken and successfully completed in a number of 240 credits. GPA: 2.00 Total ECTS: 240 |
| Graduates of the department can work as designers and design managers in industrial management organizations, or they can establish their own private design offices and offer design, implementation, inspection and design consultancy services. With additional training, they can become experts and become Technology and Design Teachers in secondary education. |
| Each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester, and in order to take the end-of-term exam, they must attend at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the applications. Students are required to take at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, projects, laboratory exams, quizzes, etc.) to the success grade is 40% in total, while the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are graded over 100 points. It is obligatory to get at least 50 points from the end-of-semester exam and to achieve an average of 50. Students who get one of the letter grades of AA, BA, BB, CB and CC in a course are considered successful in that course. DC and DD grades are conditional pass grades. Courses with letter grades of FF and NA (absent) and deemed unsuccessful are repeated in the first semester they are opened. |
