Mission

The mission of the University Library is to provide all the information resources required to support the University’s educational, instructional, research and community activities in accordance with international standards and contemporary global norms. It offers these resources through a high quality, innovative  and user-centered service approach, while also supporting users’ lifelong learning activities through a modern library system.

Vision

Our vision is to be a pioneering and resourceful library that anticipates the learning needs of the future, equipped with modern technologies and advanced facilities, delivering high quality information services and taking a leading role among academic libraries at the national and regional levels.

The Directorate of Library and Documentation of Haliç University aims to be a modern information center that supports the University’s mission in education, research, and community service; that provides all necessary information resources in accordance with international standards and universal norms; and that offers these resources through a high-quality, innovative, and user-oriented service approach.

Our Quality Policy is based on the following principles:

    Our priority is to provide printed and electronic resources required for users’ education and research, ensuring that everyone can easily access them.

  • User Satisfaction:
    We shape our library services in line with the needs and expectations of our users, taking their feedback and suggestions into consideration.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    We regularly review our services, identify areas for improvement, and enhance our performance accordingly.

  • Digitalization and Use of Technology:
    We facilitate online access to information, expand our digital resources, and ensure that users can benefit from library services remotely as well.

To enhance the quality of library services, ensure user satisfaction, plan continuous improvement activities, and monitor quality processes.
To establish, evaluate, and revise when necessary the operational workflows of the Directorate (such as circulation, cataloging, technical services, and archival digitization processes).
To manage internal control processes across the unit, monitor their implementation, and carry out corrective actions when required.
To contribute to the implementation of the decisions taken by the Unit Quality Commission throughout the Directorate of Library and Documentation and to monitor the outcomes of these implementations.
