About The Program

Mission Statement

To raise individuals who are inquisitive, innovative, critical thinkers, adopt ethical values, attach importance to knowledge and technological development, compete at the global level and internalize the values of our university.

Program Objectives

The educational objectives of the Business Administration (English) undergraduate program include:

  1. The Business Administration (English) undergraduate program aims to provide graduates in the fields of management, organization, accounting, finance, marketing, production and operations management, informatics, and numerical methods in accordance with the requirements of business life and the era.
  2. The Business Administration (English) undergraduate program aims to train solution-oriented individuals who have acquired entrepreneurial skills at national and international level, have the ability to manage and develop, and adapt to continuous change.
  3. The Business Administration (English) undergraduate program complies with the legal and ethical requirements of business life and aims to continuously improve the quality of education by adopting the principles of universality, sustainability and transparency.


Program Learning Outcomes:

  • LO1. To acquire an interdisciplinary perspective on the understanding and implementation of key business functions.
  • LO2. To think critically in identifying, interpreting, and solving business problems and opportunities from an entrepreneurial perspective.
  • LO3. To ensure the appropriate use of methodologies during data collection, analysis and reporting for effective and efficient decision making.
  • LO4. To use information technologies and computer software for the planning, implementation, and control of business activities.
  • LO5. To show awareness of ethical and legal issues in business decisions.
  • LO6. To give importance to economic, environmental, and social sustainability elements with an awareness of who valuable are differences.
  • LO7. To develop professionally written reports and make effective presentations on a business topic using appropriate technologies.
  • LO8. Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team in a business environment.
  • LO9. To acquire English language skills that will support professional and personal development.
  • LO10. To follow current developments and trends in the business world.
  • LO11. To communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholder 


Academic Opportunities

Erasmus and MoU Agreements 

Business Administration program students can continue their education at contracted universities for 1 or 2 semesters, if they meet the conditions in the regulations related to Erasmus or MoU agreements.

Double Major and Minor Programs

Applications of Double Major and Minor Programs in Business English Program in line with the provisions specified in the 20th article of “Halic University Associate and Undergraduate Degree Education” are carried out within the scope of the regulation of “Transition between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions”. 

According to Departmental Board decision (dated 04.08.2022 and numbered 2022/05) students enrolled in the Business Administration English program can do Double Major in the following programs.

  • International Trade and Business (English)
  • Management Information System (English) 
  • Industrial Engineering (English)
  • Psychology (English)
  • Translation and Interpretation (English)
  • Sports Management (English)

There are not any requirements for the minor program.

Student admission for the undergraduate Business Administration (English) program started in 1998, the year when Haliç University was opened and still continues actively.
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Student admission to the Business Administration (English) program is provided in several ways. The equal weight (EA) score in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) organized by OSYM is taken as a basis for the admission of Turkish students, and in line with the success ranking obtained according to this score, the students gain the right to enroll in the relevant program. Students who graduate from the associate degree program can transfer to the undergraduate program according to the success score they have obtained in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). In addition, students can transfer from other programs or universities as well as through Double Major and Minor Programs.

International potential students can apply online through Haliç University International Office portal or through contracted agencies. During the application, candidates upload to the portal their high school diploma and transcript, passport and foreign language proficiency documents. In line with the application criteria prepared by Haliç University International Office, the high school graduation scores of the candidate students are evaluated according to the country where they completed their undergraduate education.

In order to graduate from the Business Administration English program, students must meet the following requirements:
1. To have successfully completed the obligations required by the education program they are registered to.
2. To have completed 240 ECTS credits.
3. To have succeeded in the compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum.
4. To succeed by taking at least 60 ECTS elective courses in the curriculum.
5. Have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
6. Successfully completing the internship requirements.
The Business Administration English Undergraduate Program aims to provide graduates in the fields of management, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, informatics and production in accordance with the requirements of business life and the era. Graduates of the Bachelor of Business Administration program are employed in various departments of the private sector and public institutions.
In the Business Administration English program students for the registered courses are primarily evaluated by three exams: one midterm, one final and one make-up exam. The weight of the final exam is 60%. The remaining 40% part may consist only by a midterm exam. In addition to the midterm exam, the 40% can also include others practices such as group work, homework/project preparation and presentations, and quizzes that measure success during the semester. Methods on how to evaluate the courses are described in detail in the Bologna Information Packages of the courses. The grading system is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Haliç University Associate and Undergraduate Degree Regulations.
