About The Program

MISSION

The mission of the Haliç University English Nursing Undergraduate Program is to train professional nurses equipped to contribute to improving the health of individuals, families, and society through a contemporary, student-centered educational approach based on universal ethical values and scientific knowledge. The program aims to equip students not only with professional knowledge and technical skills, but also with 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, ethical decision-making, cultural sensitivity, scientific research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The foundation of this mission is to cultivate graduates who effectively utilize the nursing process, prioritize improving the quality of patient care through evidence-based practices, respect individual differences, and are open to lifelong learning.

To be a nationally leading, internationally recognized, and preferred program in nursing education, research, and clinical practice; to become an academic center that trains innovative, leading, and societal-focused nurses who enhance the quality of healthcare services. In line with this vision, we aim to empower our graduates to be effective not only in the healthcare sector but also in multifaceted areas such as academia, policy development, and community health projects. Our program aims to provide a technology-integrated, interculturally sensitive nursing education that supports public health in line with sustainable development goals.

İngilizce Hemşirelik Bölümü, 2020 yılından itibaren Haliç Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi bünyesinde eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir. Bölümümüz, hemşirelik mesleğinin çağdaş gereklerine uygun olarak yapılandırılmış bir müfredatla, teorik bilgi ile uygulamalı eğitimi bütünleştirmektedir. Kuramsal dersler, alanında yetkin ve deneyimli hemşire akademisyenler tarafından yürütülmekte; uygulamalı eğitimler ise kamu, üniversite ve özel hastanelerde, ders sorumluları ve klinik rehberler eşliğinde gerçekleştirilmektedir. Dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerimiz, mesleki beceri ve yeterliliklerini pekiştirdikleri intern hemşirelik uygulamaları ile mezuniyet öncesi süreci etkin bir şekilde tamamlamaktadır. Bölümümüz, öğrencilerine yalnızca mesleki bilgi değil; aynı zamanda etik değerlere bağlılık, eleştirel düşünme ve disiplinler arası iş birliği becerisi kazandırmayı hedeflemektedir.
Students who successfully complete this program are awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduates are eligible to receive the title "Nurse" and, with approval from the Ministry of Health, can work as nurses in public, private, and university hospitals. They can also work in a wide range of settings, including community health services, school health units, elderly care centers, and private clinics. The program awards a first-level (undergraduate) academic degree to students who successfully complete the 240 ECTS credits defined within the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Process).
• Candidates who successfully complete the Central Placement Exam (YKS) using the Numerical (SAY) score and have graduated from a high school or equivalent are accepted.

• Horizontal transfer applications are submitted according to the principles set by the Council of Higher Education, and students are expected to have achieved a certain level of academic success in equivalent programs at other universities where they are enrolled. Horizontal transfers are conducted in two ways: internally and externally.

• Vertical transfer applications are possible only if candidates who have graduated from relevant associate degree programs successfully pass the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and are placed within the available quota.

• International students are accepted to the program based on their high school equivalency, academic achievement, and English proficiency documents, in accordance with Haliç University's current "International Student Admission Guidelines."

• All applications are processed in accordance with the academic calendar and procedures determined by Haliç University.
Graduates who successfully complete their undergraduate education can continue their academic education by applying for master's and doctoral programs in their own or related fields, provided that they receive a valid score from the ALES exam and document their English language proficiency (YDS, TOEFL, etc.) at the level determined by YÖK.

To graduate from the Bachelor of Nursing (English) Program, a student must successfully complete all required and elective courses in the program's curriculum, earn a total of 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits, and successfully complete a fourth-year internship and nursing internship. Additionally, the student must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00/4.00. Students who meet these requirements are eligible to receive a Bachelor of Nursing diploma and the title of "Nurse.
Graduates of Haliç University's Bachelor of Nursing (English) program can find employment in a wide range of roles in line with the dynamic needs of the healthcare sector. Graduates can be employed as nurses in public and private healthcare institutions, and can assume professional roles in various settings, including the Ministry of Health, university hospitals, private hospitals, community health centers, family health centers, and elder care and rehabilitation facilities. Individuals who complete their undergraduate education can work at various levels of healthcare and also have the opportunity to specialize in specific areas after graduation. In this context, they can gain competence in specialized areas such as intensive care nursing, neonatal intensive care nursing, dialysis nursing, wound care nursing, infection control nursing, and diabetes nursing through certification programs approved by the Ministry of Health. These programs are implemented within the framework of relevant legislation and are important tools to support professional development. Graduates can also work independently in areas such as home care nursing as part of their individual entrepreneurship or work in private healthcare organizations. Equipping students with ethical, scientific, and critical thinking skills, in line with program outcomes, allows them to assume active roles not only in clinical practice but also in education, management, and research. Graduates aiming for academic careers can continue their education at the graduate level by applying to thesis-based master's and doctoral programs in nursing or health sciences, and pursue careers in research, teaching, and management. This process is directly linked to the learning outcomes defined in accordance with the Bologna Process. Haliç University conducts regular graduate monitoring programs through relevant units to monitor the career development of its graduates and ensures that program outcomes are updated based on stakeholder feedback. This approach contributes to both the continuity of quality assurance processes and the institutional monitoring of graduate success.
Haliç Üniversitesi Hemşirelik (İngilizce) Lisans Programı'nda fiyatlar ve değerlendirmeler, Haliç Üniversitesi Önlisans ve Lisans Eğitim-Öğretim Yönergesi sertifikası kapsamında yürütülmektedir. Tüm akademik başarı seviyeleri, ayrıntılı olarak sınıflandırılmış çeşitli değerlendirme bileşenleri ölçümler yoluyla verilmektedir. Onun dersindeki başarı notu; ara sınav(lar), uygulamalar, proje ve ödev çalışmaları, klinik/alan uygulama performansı, devam durumu ve yarıyıl/yıl sonu sınavlarından elde edilen puanların, önceden belirlenmiş oranlarda ağırlıklandırılmasıyla hesaplanır. Bu değerlendirme bileşenleri, sorumlu ders programları tarafından belirlenmekte ve akademik dönemlerin başında duyurulmaktadır. Ölçme ve soğutmada mutlak değerlendirme yöntemi esas alınmakta, bağıl değerlendirme yalnızca Senato tarafından uygun görülen derslerde uygulanabilmektedir. Bir dersten başarılı sayılabilmesi için, en az CC karakter notunun (100 üzerinden 60 puan) alınması gerekmektedir. Program genelindeki akademik başarı durumu, Genel Ağırlıklı Not ortalaması (AGNO) ile izlenmekte olup, mezuniyet için asgari 2.00/4.00 AGNO şartları aranmaktadır. Uygulamalı dersler ile klinik eğitim/staj ülkelerinde, bölgelerinde bulunanların devamını yerine getirmeleri ve uygulama başarı kriterlerini sağlamaları zorunludur. Uygulama yeterliliği, teorik başarıdan bağımsız olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Uygulamanın başarısızlıkla sonuçlanması, ilgili dersin tüm bileşenleriyle tekrarlanmasıyla sağlanır. Ölçme ve dağıtım paketleri, bitkiler, duyuşsal ve psikomotor bölgelerinin gelişimi bütüncül bir yaklaşımla izlemeyi ve mesleki yeterlilik nesnel biçimini belgelemeyi sağlıyor
