T.R. Haliç University, Faculty of Health Sciences was first established as the School of Nursing in 1999, later as the School of Health Sciences in 2007, and since 2020 it has been continuing its educational activities as the Faculty of Health Sciences. Under the organizational structure of our Faculty, the education of diverse health professionals who work to promote health is carried out at a level that competes with international standards.

Within the Faculty of Health Sciences, the following departments are included:

  • Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (Turkish)
  • Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (English)
  • Department of Midwifery
  • Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (Turkish)
  • Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (English)
  • Department of Nursing (Turkish)
  • Department of Nursing (English)

The Faculty of Health Sciences currently continues its educational activities with 52 academic staff members. In our Faculty, students’ theoretical knowledge is reinforced in well-equipped laboratories, specifically designed for each department, where they can also acquire essential practical training.

Graduates of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics can pursue careers in both public and private hospitals and institutions providing inpatient and outpatient services, mass catering companies, the food industry, food inspection and nutrition laboratories, national and international organizations oriented towards public health, formal and non-formal education institutions, research institutions focusing on nutrition and health, and nutrition and diet consultancy centers.

Graduates of the Department of Midwifery may work in institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, the Social Security Institution, universities, as well as in private hospitals, maternity hospitals, child health and family planning centers, maternity clinics, and dispensaries.

Graduates of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation may be employed in state hospitals, private hospitals, the Ministry of Health, the Social Security Institution, municipal and university research hospitals, community health centers, rehabilitation centers, private clinics, sports clubs, and nursing homes. Graduates may specialize in one of the many subfields of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and may obtain titles such as hand therapist, speech therapist, sports physiotherapist, manual therapist, chest physiotherapist, or lymphedema therapist according to their specialization. They may also participate in national or international courses and training programs in their chosen areas.

Graduates of the Department of Nursing may work in state hospitals, private hospitals, the Ministry of Health, the Social Security Institution, municipal and university research hospitals, community health centers, rehabilitation centers, private clinics, maternity hospitals, family health centers, pharmaceutical companies, schools, and workplaces as occupational health nurses, as well as in many other healthcare fields.

Moreover, all graduates of our Faculty departments may pursue master’s and doctoral studies at Haliç University or other national and international universities, conduct academic research, continue their careers as academicians, pursue postgraduate education abroad, and work internationally.
