Mathematics Society

The Mathematics Society aims to bring together undergraduate students at our University with expert mathematicians and professionals who have graduated from mathematics departments and now work in various sectors. Helping our members adopt mathematical ways of thinking, introducing the history of mathematics and using tools that enhance communication and interaction among departmental students are among the objectives of our Society.

In addition, we aim to organise activities that address where mathematics is used and how it appears in daily life, explore its relationship with other branches of science and technology and support our members’ personal development by easing their transition into professional life.

Seminars

An event in which our University’s academic staff and students deliver presentations, for example on the relationship between mathematics and everyday life.

Conferences

An activity where we host graduates of mathematics who have specialised in their field, as well as professionals working in different sectors, to inform and inspire our students.

Trainings

Primarily computer‑based activities organised for students in mathematics, engineering or other departments who wish to further develop themselves.
