Haliç University School of Physical Education and Sports was established on 22 May 2008. The primary mission of our School is to educate professionals and educators in the field of sports sciences who are competent in their profession, trained with contemporary, science- and technology-based approaches and methods, respectful of universal and cultural values, and responsive to the needs of our country. Through this vision, our School aims to provide services and technology in sports sciences for the benefit of society.
Our School is comprised of the following departments: Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Coaching Education, Sports Management, Sports Management (English) and Recreation. Additionally, master’s and doctoral programs are offered for students who wish to pursue an academic career.
Students specialize in their fields by taking courses such as Anatomy, Sports Physiology, Physical Activity and Health, Sports Biomechanics, Sports Psychology, Motor Control, Movement and Training Science, History of Sports, Sports Sociology, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Sports Business Administration, Sports Marketing and Philosophy of Sports. With its distinguished academic staff and physical infrastructure, the quality of education is continuously improving.
Over the course of fourteen years, Haliç University School of Physical Education and Sports has developed an extensive academic staff and research base, covering a wide range of areas within the multidisciplinary structure of sports sciences.
With its current academic staff, sports facilities, performance laboratory, sports biomechanics laboratory, exercise and sports psychology laboratory, and physical infrastructure, the School is equipped to provide contemporary and efficient education that meets present-day needs.
Our sports venues, including an indoor gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, fitness center, gymnastics hall, dance studio, and archery hall, are actively used in our courses. Furthermore, our students gain professional experience and internship opportunities in cooperation with external stakeholders through practical sports applications.
Our School places special emphasis on enabling students to engage in training and internships within the industry. For professional practices and internships, we collaborate with schools, sports clubs, municipalities, and public institutions. To ensure that our students are prepared for their professions throughout their undergraduate education, our University also offers a sectoral training program. In addition, within the scope of Erasmus, students are provided with opportunities for studying and undertaking internships abroad, offering valuable experiences in both foreign language acquisition and professional development.
