As the Faculty of Sport Sciences/Department of Recreation, our objective is to train physical activity specialists and recreation leaders who adopt a healthy and physically active lifestyle, are sensitive to public health, contribute to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals through physical activity, demonstrate professional competence, aim for continuous self-development, embrace scientific thinking and are open to individual and cultural diversity as well as capable of creative and critical thinking. In line with this mission, our Recreation Department has been accredited by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Sport Sciences Education Programs (SPORAK).
The department’s goal is to help individuals make more conscious use of their leisure time, thereby fostering a healthier society in physical, psychological and social terms; to provide rational and scientific services; to conduct research and development activities in the field of recreation at both national and international levels through academic studies; and to educate qualified human resources who will serve society in all areas related to recreation.
Our Department of Recreation has been accredited by SPORAK for the period from April 29, 2025, to April 29, 2027.
