Equivalency Certificate ( Example)

Students who have received their education in systems not affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of National Education or the Turkish higher education system must submit an equivalency certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) confirming that their academic level and degree are recognized as equivalent to those in Türkiye. This must be submitted to the Directorate of Student Affairs within the document submission period granted to international students.

For more information on the equivalency application process: https://edenklik.meb.gov.tr/

(*) This certificate is not required for students who graduated from high schools affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MEB).

Residence Permit ( Example)

A residence permit is an official document issued by the Directorate General of Migration Management allowing foreign nationals to stay in Türkiye.

Students admitted under the international student quota must apply for their initial residence permit before the expiration of their student visa. Student visas are typically valid for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 90 days, depending on the passport.

Students whose residence permits are due to expire within 60 days must apply for an extension through the International Students Office.

If the residence permit has already expired, students must initiate a new “initial application” and submit it via the International Students Office.

By law, the processing time for residence permit applications may take up to 90 days. Once approved, residence cards must be collected from the Directorate of Student Affairs.

All residence-related procedures are the sole responsibility of the student. It is also the student’s responsibility to complete and submit all required documents to the relevant departments within the prescribed time frame.

All documents must be submitted in full within the deadline set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
