The 4th Stars of Food Climate Change and Sustainability Summit and Award Ceremony, organized with a focus on climate change and sustainability, was held at the Yıldız Technical University Davutpaşa Congress and Culture Center. The summit addressed current challenges in the food sector, sustainable production models and strategies to combat the climate crisis, bringing together students and industry representatives. During the event, the Flavor Arts Award of the Year was granted to a project developed by our students.
As part of the summit, speakers from leading companies in the sector shared their sustainability initiatives and climate change-focused practices with participants. The event aimed to raise awareness among young people regarding a sustainable future in the food industry.
Following the summit, the Stars of Food Award Ceremony, recognized as one of Türkiye’s prestigious student organizations, was held, during which awards were presented to recipients in various categories. At the ceremony, the Flavor Arts Award of the Year was presented to students of our Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts.
The award was earned through projects carried out under the leadership of Dr. Aslı Aksoy, Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Chef Volkan Aslan, with the participation of second and third year students. Prepared through the collective efforts of 16 students, the projects reflected creative approaches in the field of flavor arts and were shaped by a strong vision of sustainability.
We congratulate our students, Serra Dartar, Çiğdem Ergül, Efnan Yazıcı, Yaşar Efe Tek, Yasin Emir Kırmızıaslan, İlker Temiz, Emine Kurt, Emirhan Gülten, Ravza Hilal Özbalkan, Eylül Taşkıran, Şerife Dönmez, Taha Kaya, Zeynep Zülal Erdem, Yusuf Onur Ocak, Ceren Özyakar, and Mert Özkan, and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.
