Our Lecturer Ayşenur Çetin Awarded the Early Career Research Grant 2025

Ayşenur Çetin Üçeriz, a Lecturer in the Department of Nursing at our University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, has been selected as the recipient of the Early Career Research Grant 2025, awarded by the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) to support early-career researchers.

Receiving this distinguished support after a rigorous evaluation of applications from around the world stands out as a significant achievement that brings pride both to our academic staff member Üçeriz and to our country.

Lecturer Üçeriz’s research project aims to develop a self-directed, nurse-led intervention approach—based on the Symptom Management Model (SYM)—to support symptom control during the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) process. The study will utilize virtual reality (VR) headsets featuring video content created within the framework of the Attention Restoration Theory (ART).

The project encompasses two key objectives:

Introducing an innovative and digital approach to symptom management in HSCT patients,
Contributing new evidence to the nursing literature by enhancing patients’ overall experience.

Designed within an evidence-based framework, this research will generate valuable data on the effective use of advanced technologies in nursing practice, supporting the digital transformation of healthcare services and the improvement of patient care processes.

This program, conducted by EONS to promote excellence in nursing across Europe, provides financial support to early-career nurse researchers, enabling the implementation of innovative projects. We congratulate our academic staff member and wish her continued success.
