Ayşenur Çetin Üçeriz, a Research Assistant in the Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences, has been accepted into the research team of the CA23151 Mediterranean Cancer Screening and Early Diagnosis Network (Medi-CaSE) project, a scientific collaboration supported internationally by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Association.
The Medi-CaSE project aims to improve the effectiveness of secondary prevention strategies for preventable cancers such as breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers in Mediterranean-bordering countries. With this objective in mind, the project seeks to develop organized and sustainable cancer screening policies by considering the existing differences in health system practices across countries.
Medi-CaSE fosters the sharing of best practices, the dissemination of evidence-based interventions, and the integration of these interventions into clinical practice by creating a collaborative platform that supports scientific research partnerships. Shaped by the participation of local stakeholders, the structure also provides opportunities for multidisciplinary education and capacity building for young researchers. The network aims to address the structural limitations, data gaps, and fragmented policy implementations in low- and middle-income countries, while enhancing the efficient use of resources by leveraging shared experiences.
We congratulate Ayşenur Çetin Üçeriz and wish her continued success.
