We Hosted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Our Campus

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Youth Forum, hosted by our University. The event was attended by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad of Burkina Faso Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković, Foreign Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, President of the Palestine Football Federation Jibril Rajoub, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad of Chad Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, and Foreign Minister of Cameroon Lejeune Mbella Mbella.

In his remarks, President Erdoğan highlighted the ongoing humanitarian situation in Gaza and expressed strong criticism of Israel’s military actions, describing attacks on civilians as violations of international law. He held the Israeli government responsible for these events and noted that silence from other actors contributes to the continuation of the crisis. Emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity among youth, Erdoğan pointed to the lack of cohesion as a significant challenge within the Islamic world. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s support for the Palestinian people and concluded his speech with a call for justice, peace, and freedom.
