The Academic Evaluation Meeting organized by our University’s Vocational School was held with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Enes Eryarsoy; our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Öykü İyigün and Prof. Dr. Kazım Sarı; and the Director of the Vocational School, Dr. İsmail Belli. The meeting addressed academic processes, the 3+1 education model, curriculum development, research and development activities, and university–industry collaboration.
During the meeting, updates were shared on the preparation process, implementation principles, and academic calendar related to the 3+1 education model. Participants also exchanged views on curriculum alignment across programs, internship processes, and improving opportunities for students to engage in practical training.
Within the scope of academic quality processes, evaluations were conducted on course syllabi, learning outcomes, and educational planning. Strengthening a culture of research and projects, increasing research productivity, and expanding work on projects supported by TÜBİTAK were also among the key agenda items.
Topics such as ethics committee procedures, collaboration with external stakeholders, the contribution of industry representatives to educational processes, and proposals to enhance practice-based education were also discussed. The meeting provided a platform for academics to share their views and suggestions, and to exchange ideas on initiatives that can be carried out through collaboration and a shared vision in response to the evolving needs of higher education.
The meeting, which also addressed the current structure of vocational schools and areas for future development, concluded with overall evaluations of academic processes and planning for the upcoming term.
