The 2024-2025 Annual Academic General Assembly Meeting was Held

The program began with a moment of silence and the national anthem, the İstiklal Marşı. In his opening address, Rector Prof. Dr. Nihat İnanç shared key insights regarding the university’s academic vision, institutional development, and future objectives.

Prof. Dr. İnanç expressed his gratitude to the academic staff for their contributions and emphasized the ongoing efforts to strengthen the institutional structure of Haliç University. He remarked, “We will not promise what we cannot deliver, and we will deliver what we promise. Rather than making noise, we aim to become a university where presence and vision are aligned.”

He reported that during the past academic year, a total of 2,900 students graduated—809 from undergraduate programs, 860 from associate degree programs, and 231 from postgraduate programs. He noted that new mechanisms for academic incentives and support have been introduced to enhance academic performance. “In order to elevate our university’s standing in international rankings, we need a stronger performance in academic publishing, patents, and project development. To this end, we have implemented an academic incentive and performance contribution system,” he stated.

Prof. Dr. İnanç also announced the signing of cooperation protocols with two hospitals, expanding the practical training opportunities for the Faculty of Medicine. Regarding the university’s academic infrastructure, he noted that the number of academic programs has reached 140—100 at the undergraduate and associate levels, and 40 at the postgraduate level. He further underlined that the digital transformation process has been accelerated, with all software infrastructure now being developed in-house.

In the final part of the program, an academic promotion and gowning ceremony was held for newly appointed faculty members.
