Symposium on Current Approaches in the Treatment of Infants with Cleft Lip and Palate Held

The Symposium on Current Approaches in the Treatment of Infants with Cleft Lip and Palate took place at the Small Conference Hall. The event brought together expert academics in the field, with the opening speech delivered by Dr. Şerife Kartal Erdost, Head of the Department of Midwifery, Faculty of Health Sciences.

During the symposium, expert academics emphasized that cleft lip and palate is a common congenital anomaly that occurs in the early stages of pregnancy and can lead to feeding difficulties, nutritional deficiencies, speech disorders, and various health problems. They noted that feeding challenges can affect growth and development and may delay the surgical process.

Speakers highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in treatment and stressed that teaching parents proper feeding techniques is critical. The event also provided students with comprehensive information on current care practices for infants with cleft lip and palate.

The symposium concluded with a group photo session and the presentation of certificates to the speakers.
