“Speak Freely Through Stuttering” Symposium Held

The “Speak Freely Through Stuttering: Experience, Awareness, and an Introduction to Professional Practice Symposium,” organized in collaboration between our University and the Stuttering Association, was held at the Small Conference Hall. The event aimed to raise awareness of stuttering, encourage the sharing of lived experiences, and offer students an early insight into professional practice in the field.

In the opening session, participants were informed under the theme “Common Misconceptions About Stuttering,” followed by a Q&A session addressing questions from attendees and an overview of key approaches in the field. In a parallel room, a workshop was held for children, while the main stage hosted performances by both child and adult participants. A Playback Theatre performance was also presented to the audience.

Drama- and stuttering-focused workshops emphasized experiential, hands-on learning. Participants had the opportunity to share their experiences while also gaining practical insights into the field.

The symposium concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks. Bringing together experts in stuttering and students, the event served as a platform for meaningful knowledge exchange and increased awareness in the field.
