Life At Haliç
Haliç University hosted Sınav Education Institutions’ 2026-2027 Academic Year-End Evaluation and New Academic Year Opening Program. Bringing together representatives from the education sector, the event focused on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence and technology on education, the professions of the future and the importance of providing students with effective career guidance.
The opening speech, Haliç University Rector Prof. Dr. Enes Eryarsoy highlighted the impact of rapidly developing technologies on professions and emphasized the critical role educators play in shaping students’ futures. Noting that even a small piece of guidance from a teacher can become a turning point in a student’s life, Prof. Dr. Eryarsoy also shared insights into the University’s innovative approach to education.
Prof. Dr. Eryarsoy stated that, in the world of the future, expertise in one’s professional field alone would no longer be sufficient. In this context, he introduced the “three languages” approach at the core of the new educational model, which aims to equip students not only with professional expertise but also with competencies in financial literacy, effective communication and artificial intelligence literacy. Prof. Dr. Eryarsoy also provided information about the University’s AI-powered department and career recommendation tool, designed to help guide students by jointly analyzing their interests, abilities, examination scores and career aspirations.
Following the Rector’s, Metin Özer, Chairman of the Board of Sınav Education Institutions, shared the institution’s educational philosophy and goals for the new academic year. Özer emphasized that the quality of education is shaped not only by technological opportunities and physical infrastructure but also by teachers’ motivation, dedication and belief in their students. Stating that teachers’ views and recommendations play a guiding role in preparations for the new academic year, Özer underlined that continuous improvement in education can only be achieved through collaboration.
The final speaker of the program, Educator and Social Entrepreneur Sevinç Atabay, addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on learning processes in her presentation titled “Education from Yesterday to Tomorrow: Enduring Values, Changing Roles.” Atabay emphasized the importance of preserving the ability to question, read in depth and think critically while benefiting from the opportunities offered by technology. She also highlighted the need to move beyond rote-learning approaches and encourage students to ask questions and conduct research, stressing that curiosity plays a decisive role in meaningful and lasting learning.
The program concluded with the presentation of gifts following the speeches.
