The project titled “Advanced Surface Engineering on Mg Alloys: Multifunctional Coatings for Controlled Degradation, Drug Release, and Osseointegration,” in which Dr. Hande Çavuş Arslan, a faculty member of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, serves as a researcher, has been awarded support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program.
The project, supported under TÜBİTAK 1001, one of Türkiye’s most prestigious and highest-budget research support programs, aims to develop innovative surface engineering approaches to improve the performance of biodegradable magnesium alloys in biomedical applications.
Within the scope of the project, biocompatible and multifunctional coating technologies will be used to improve implant surface properties, ensure controlled biological interactions, and support bone tissue healing. By bringing together surface engineering, biomaterials, and cell culture studies, the project aims to develop next-generation solutions that will contribute to future biodegradable implant technologies.
Led by Prof. Dr. Behiye Yüksel from Istanbul Aydın University as the project coordinator, the project team includes Dr. Hande Çavuş Arslan from Haliç University and Dr. Burcu Güleryüz Erkovan from Yeditepe University as researchers, while Prof. Dr. Muhammed Hamitoğlu serves as an advisor.
We congratulate our faculty member and wish her continued success.
