Our Athletics Team Returns from the Interuniversity Athletics Championships of Türkiye with Medals

Our University Athletics Team achieved notable success at the Interuniversity Athletics Championships of Türkiye, held between 7–10 May 2026, securing outstanding results across multiple events. Competing in various disciplines, our student-athletes proudly represented the university with strong performances.
Muhammet Raşit Kalafat, a final-year student in the Coaching Education Department of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, became the champion of Türkiye in the university category for the javelin throw, earning the gold medal.

Hamza Yaşın, a first-year student in the Recreation Department, won the silver medal by placing second in the 1,500 meters.

Halil Yaşın, competing for our team, secured second place in the 5,000 meters event. He also claimed the gold medal in the individual 800 meters race, becoming the champion of Türkiye in the university category.
Our student-athletes, who continue their education within the Faculty of Sport Sciences, maintain a strong balance between academic development and elite athletic performance. The results achieved at the championships once again demonstrate their disciplined training approach and high competitive standards.
