Muhammed Yavuz Selim Oğuz Wins Turkish Open Water Swimming Championship

Muhammed Yavuz Selim Oğuz, a student from the Coaching Education Department of our Faculty of Sports Sciences, won the Turkish Open Water Swimming Summer Championships and National Team Selection Races held in Marmaris.

Competing in the 10-kilometre race held between 2 and 5 June, Oğuz finished first with a time of 1:57:29 and became the Turkish champion.
The competitions were organized as part of the Turkish Open Water Swimming Summer Championships (+14), National Team Selection Races, 11–13 Age Group Development Summer Competitions, and International Open Water Swimming Development Squad Selection Races. With this result, he not only claimed the championship title but also earned the right to represent Türkiye at international championships.

Commenting on his achievement, Muhammed Yavuz Selim Oğuz said:
“This success has been a great source of happiness for me. Throughout the process, I once again realized the importance of disciplined training, maintaining motivation, and being patient. This result has motivated me even further and reminded me that I need to keep working towards my goals.”

Oğuz will represent Türkiye at the European Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Hungary from 23 to 26 July 2026 and at the European Senior Open Water Swimming Championships in Paris, France, from 4 to 8 August 2026.

We congratulate our student, Muhammed Yavuz Selim Oğuz, and wish him continued success as he represents both our University and Türkiye at the upcoming international championships.
