Dr. Belma Yamur, Head of the Graphic Design Program at the Vocational School, participated in the “Art Sharm Workshop & Exhibition,” held on 21–29 September 2025 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The event is considered one of the world’s most prestigious international art platforms.
Coinciding with World Tourism Day, this significant symposium was organized under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministries of Culture and Tourism and with the support of the Governorate of South Sinai. A total of 54 artists and art enthusiasts from 20 different countries took part in the event, offering an opportunity for participants to showcase the cultural and aesthetic richness of their nations.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Governor of South Sinai, Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak. In his opening remarks, the Governor emphasized that Sharm El-Sheikh has become a hub for cultural interaction and a global stage for the arts. He highlighted the role of art as a universal language that builds bridges between civilizations and noted that such events contribute to sustainable tourism while strengthening cultural ties between peoples.
Throughout the event, workshops, seminars, and artistic gatherings attracted great interest. Dr. Belma Yamur collaborated with artists from various countries, contributing to the creative process and sharing her works with international art circles.
Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Yamur stated: “Art is a universal language that brings together creative minds from different geographies. Such events not only promote artistic production but also foster cultural interaction. It was a great honor for me to represent Haliç University on an international platform.”
The Art Sharm Workshop & Exhibition concluded with a series of rich workshops, exhibitions, and cultural gatherings. The closing exhibition, featuring the works of all participants, received strong interest from international media representatives and art lovers.
