An article by Asst. Prof. Kübra Çiğdem Pekkoç Uyanık, an academic in the Department of Medical Biology at Haliç University Faculty of Medicine, has been published in Inflammopharmacology, an internationally recognized Q1 journal.
The article, titled “Cannabinoid receptor agonist WIN 55,212-2 modulates systemic inflammatory and oxidative stress responses in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats” investigated the effects of the compound WIN 55,212-2 on reducing inflammation and oxidative stress associated with diabetes. Conducted on rats with experimentally induced diabetes, the study examined the effects of different doses of WIN 55,212-2 on blood glucose levels, inflammation and oxidative stress. The findings showed that the 1 mg/kg dose, in particular, reduced blood glucose levels, alleviated inflammation and improved markers of oxidative stress.
