Program Content The Molecular Biology and Genetics Thesis Master's Program aims to train qualified researchers who can comprehend the fundamental principles of life sciences at an advanced level, possess interdisciplinary research skills, and contribute significantly to the production of scientific knowledge. The program focuses on understanding biological systems at the cellular and molecular levels, elucidating disease mechanisms, and developing innovative biotechnological approaches. Graduates are equipped to take on roles in various fields such as genetic analysis, cell and tissue culture, biotechnological production processes, and the investigation of the molecular foundations of diseases. Furthermore, they play a vital role in developing innovative solutions in health, agriculture, and industry by collaborating with experts from different disciplines. Graduates enjoy extensive career opportunities in research laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms, as well as academic and public institutions. Supported by an academic staff with diverse areas of expertise, the program conducts active research on cancer biology, genetic diseases, and the molecular mechanisms of various biological processes. Within this framework, thesis studies are supported by national and international projects—such as TÜBİTAK and BAP—to encourage students’ scientific research and publishing skills. Conducted under the Haliç University Graduate Education Institute, the program reinforces a strong theoretical foundation with advanced laboratory applications. Students specialize in fields such as scientific research methods and publication ethics, advanced molecular genetics, immunology, cancer biology, recombinant DNA technology, and cell culture through a comprehensive curriculum. The structure of the program is designed to guide students through a progressive academic journey. In the first semester, students build their knowledge base through core and elective courses, while the second semester focuses on enhancing academic competence through seminars and further electives. During the third and fourth semesters, students focus entirely on their thesis work to conduct original scientific research. Upon the successful completion of the program, which consists of a total of 120 ECTS, students graduate with the title of Master of Science (Science Expert). |
| Molecular Biology and Genetics Graduate Program, established in the 2004-2005 academic year at the Haliç University Institute of Science, provides education with its expert education staff. In the laboratories equipped with well-planned and up-to-date technological devices, studies in the fields of cancer, stem cells and plant biotechnology are carried out. |
