Turkish Preparatory Program

Haliç University Turkish Language Teaching, Application and Research Center (TÖMER) offers Turkish preparatory education at associate, undergraduate, and graduate levels to improve the Turkish language proficiency of international students admitted to our university.

The Turkish preparatory program is designed to help students adapt to academic life, follow their courses effectively, and actively participate in university life. The program provides intensive training in the four core language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. At the end of the program, students take the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS), which assesses their language level. Students who achieve the required proficiency are eligible to proceed to their academic programs, while those who do not meet the requirement continue their Turkish preparatory education before starting their studies.

All international students enrolled in associate, undergraduate, or graduate programs are required to submit a Turkish proficiency certificate before beginning their academic courses. This certificate can be obtained through the exam administered by Haliç University TÖMER or by presenting an officially recognized equivalent proficiency document.

TÖMER not only provides language education but also offers students the opportunity to get acquainted with Turkish culture, adapt to university life, and build a strong foundation for academic success.
