The YÖKAK International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation, which addresses current developments in quality assurance, digital transformation and accreditation in higher education, is being held in Istanbul on September 14-15, 2026.
Organized by the Council of Higher Education Quality (YÖKAK), the conference is an important gathering where national and international approaches to the future of quality assurance in higher education, new-generation quality models, and the effects of digital transformation on higher education institutions are being evaluated.
Our University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kazım Sarı and Director of Strategy Development and Quality Assurance Systems Tuğçe Özel are attending the conference.
The conference addresses the restructuring of quality assurance systems in line with digital transformation, AI-supported quality assurance practices, data-driven decision-making, institutional performance monitoring and the transformation of governance models.
Next-generation practices, such as digital quality assurance platforms, big data-based early warning mechanisms and learning analytics, are also being evaluated in terms of the future of quality processes in higher education.
The program also covers topics related to the internationalization of higher education, including quality assurance in cross-border higher education activities, joint and dual degree programs, micro-credentials, lifelong learning and global quality standards.
The ethical, secure and human-centred use of artificial intelligence in quality assurance processes is also addressed, with critical issues such as transparency, explainability, data privacy, academic integrity and algorithmic bias being evaluated.
