Our student Ahmet Berk Başeğmez, studying Sports Management (English), has become the 2026 Turkish Show Jumping Champion in the Senior Category at the Turkish Show Jumping Championship.
The championship was organized by the Turkish Equestrian Federation and brought together athletes from various provinces of Türkiye. Over four days, competitors took part in challenging rounds to compete for the national title.
Representing our university, Ahmet Berk Başeğmez secured the championship title with his horse, Corthagos 58, in one of the most prestigious events of the national equestrian calendar.
Following his achievement, Ahmet Berk shared his thoughts:
“This championship is not only a medal for me; it is the result of years of hard work, patience, and trust. Corthagos is not just a horse I compete with, but a companion I have trained since he was five years old. We have grown together, and he has a very special place in my life. Becoming Turkish Champion with him is one of the most meaningful moments of our journey. The bond between a rider and a horse cannot be described in words; this success belongs not only to me, but also to the trust we share. Standing on the podium, I felt gratitude more than pride. I would like to thank my family, my coaches, and everyone who supported me throughout this journey. This achievement is a clear proof that dreams can become reality when combined with hard work.”
