Dear Students,
The PATH (English Placement and Proficiency) Exam for the 2026-2027 Academic Year will be administered in two stages on 14-15 September 2026.
Students who are required to attend the English Preparatory Programme must take the PATH Exam so that their English proficiency levels can be determined. Students will be placed in the appropriate preparatory level based on their exam results.
The test component of the PATH Exam will be administered on Monday, 14 September 2026, at 10:30. Students who meet the required success criteria in the test component will be invited to take the writing and speaking components on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, at 10:30.
The test results and the list of students eligible to take the writing and speaking components on 15 September will be published on the School of Foreign Languages website. Students will also be notified via their university e-mail addresses.
Students who receive an overall score of 60 or above upon completion of all components of the PATH Exam will be exempt from the English Preparatory Programme and may begin their studies in their registered academic programmes. Students who receive an overall score below 60 will be placed in the appropriate preparatory level based on their exam results.
Lists showing the examination room assigned to each student will be posted on the notice board located on the fourth floor of Block 2. The room lists will also be published on the Announcements area of the School of Foreign Languages website.
The test component on 14 September will begin with the listening section. Students who arrive after 10:30 will not be admitted to the examination rooms until the listening section has ended. Late students will not be permitted to take the listening section and will lose the opportunity to answer the listening questions.
Students are advised to arrive at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
Students must bring either their Haliç University student ID card or a valid, official photo identification document displaying their Turkish Republic identification number.
