Our Students Make a Meaningful Visit During Children with Leukemia Awareness Week

As part of the annual “Children with Leukemia Awareness Week,” observed in Türkiye from 2 to 8 November, our University, in collaboration with the Bizim Lösemili Çocuklar Foundation, organized a meaningful social responsibility activity. Within the scope of the event, Fatma Özhan, an academic from the Faculty of Health Sciences, together with members of the Volunteering Community, visited children undergoing treatment at Sarıyer Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital to offer encouragement and support.

During the visit, the volunteer students interacted closely with the children, helping them enjoy their time despite the hospital setting. Various gifts were given to the children, and the volunteers also met with their families to convey their support.

Through this initiative, the Bizim Lösemili Çocuklar Foundation, our University, and the Volunteering Community aimed not only to boost the children’s morale but also to raise public awareness about leukemia. The visit sought to enhance children’s motivation throughout their treatment and to strengthen societal awareness in the fight against leukemia.
