Dear Young Friend,
Throughout the historical journey in which individuals, societies, administrations, and civilizations have undergone transformation, there have been rare environments that have preserved their value and allure. These are places that, while adapting to the spirit of the times, have managed to carry their unique identity beyond time itself. The Golden Horn stands as one of the most prominent examples of such environments. This unique valley, winding through the heart of Istanbul, has been a hub of commerce, production, art, science, and human diversity throughout history. The Golden Horn is like a mirror reflecting the eastern and western, ancient and modern, traditional and future-oriented faces of Istanbul; the city has evolved along the axis of the Golden Horn.
Our University, established in the name of this valley where knowledge, commerce, and art have long flowed, continues its journey as a center of thought, production, and innovation, illuminated by this profound historical memory. Accompanying this journey are the ancient legacy of the Golden Horn, the knowledge of today, and the codes of the future.
For centuries, diverse cultures have coexisted along the shores of the Golden Horn, and this diversity has evolved into a unique, unifying culture. All our students, who come from every corner of our country and from various regions around the world, are a reflection of this culture and shared heritage.
For us, university education goes beyond the mere transmission of knowledge; it is a process through which individuals discover themselves, assume social responsibility, generate value, and build their own narratives. Therefore, beyond producing successful graduates with thriving careers, we aim to nurture individuals who are just, responsible, loyal to their country, and dedicated to creating value for the benefit of humanity.
As you carve your own path within this deep-rooted story, I truly believe that through your presence and your contributions, you will have a voice in shaping the future of our city, our country, and all of humanity.
