About The Program
Today, healthcare services have evolved into a rapidly growing global sector by integrating with the tourism industry, moving beyond the sole purpose of medical treatment. The practice of individuals traveling to different countries to receive medical care has given rise to the concept of "health tourism" and increased the demand for a skilled workforce in this field. At this juncture, the Health Tourism Management program serves as a vital bridge, combining the healthcare and tourism sectors.

MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM HEAD
Dear students,
Health tourism is one of the sectors that has developed rapidly in recent years, both globally and in our country. Rising social and private insurance costs—particularly in developed nations—have prompted people to travel to countries where medical treatment is relatively more affordable. Turkey stands out as a leading country in health tourism thanks to its geographical location, advanced healthcare infrastructure, thermal resources, and cost-effective services. It possesses significant potential in the fields of thermal, medical, and surgical tourism. Over the last decade, hospitals, hotels, and health tourism agencies providing these services have significantly expanded their operations. As graduates of the Health Tourism Management program, you can capitalize on these advantages to pursue career opportunities in both national and international arenas.

The Health Tourism Management program has started its educational activities at our university as of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded an associate degree in Health Tourism Management.
Having a high school diploma or equivalent
Getting a sufficient score on the TYT exam administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center
Graduates of the Health Tourism Management Program can transfer to the following departments of faculties and 4-year colleges, based on the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS); Business Informatics, Business Management, Business Administration-Economics, Accommodation Management, Accommodation and Tourism Management, Tourism Management, Tourism Management and Hotel Management, Tourism and Hotel Management, and Tourism and Hotel Management.

Students are eligible to graduate when they successfully complete all compulsory and elective courses in their curriculum and achieve 120 ECTS and a minimum 2.00 GPA.
The Health Tourism Management program began operating at our university in the 2024-2025 academic year. Graduates of the program find employment opportunities in the health tourism departments of public and private healthcare institutions and organizations, in agencies operating in health tourism, and in hotels and facilities offering wellness services.
The Midterm Exam has a 40% and the Final Exam has a 60% grade weight.
