| The Department of Turkish Language and Literature is an undergraduate program that aims to provide students with an inclusive and multidimensional education with its rich curriculum covering all phases, genres and subjects of our literature, from classical literature to modern literature, from poetry to novels and from Sufism to folk literature. This undergraduate program, which was opened in the 2016-2017 academic year, is a new department within the existing Turkish Language and Literature Departments in our universities, and it has set itself as a mission to offer an education program that will train its students to compete with the Turkish Language and Literature Department students of other universities. In addition, it is among the principles of the program to bring the values of Atatürk's principles and revolutions, loyalty to the Republic, objective thinking, the idea of criticism and intellectual culture.
Teaching the works, personalities and issues of all periods and every period from the beginning of Turkish literature to the present day, learning Turkish language and dialects through literary works and knowing Turkish spoken and written in a wide geography with various dialects and dialects are among the main duties of the department. Apart from these, with the four-year lesson plan created with the vision of showing the historical development of the literature and dialects of the Turkish world, it is aimed to ensure that the students of the department use Turkish verbally and in writing in the best way, and to grow up as individuals who know the cultural values of the Turkish nation. Aiming to provide students with the opportunity to learn Arabic and Persian, the source languages of ancient Turkish culture and literature, as well as having a good command of the Turkish language and literature resources and the language of these resources, this program aims to train future academics who closely follow the studies on world literature. .
After completing the pedagogical formation education, the graduates of the department can work in the National Education organization, private and state libraries, the Prime Ministry State Archive, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and TRT, they can work as lecturers in higher education institutions, and they can become academicians in institutions that provide graduate education in the same field in Turkey. In addition to these, they can also work in publishing and advertising institutions.
